I've always struggled with Excel and working with IP addresses in worksheets. In the past i would download some function that would work but inevitably it would stop working for odd reasons or due to my upgraded MS Office suite.
Recently, I was faced with getting ip addresses for over a hundred workstations all listed in an Excel 2016 workbook. None of the old functions worked with this version of Excel so I did a search and came across IP Tools for Excel. Yes it is not free, but it does have a free trial. That being said the cost was negligible when I consider how much time it saved me. 15 minutes from downloading and installing the software and my spreadsheet had all of the ip addresses in seconds. That is worth the cost in the time i just saved and the future time I will save going forward. Plus, I dont have to find that function and re-add it every time I need to do a nslookup!
