I do add software to my work laptop even though it is not kosher with the institution that I work for. However the software I add I realized is something that other people might not realize is out there and can make your life a lot easier.
I just posted about IP Tools for Excel but another one people should look at is Clipmate. Clipmate is a clipboard extender that really adds extra power to the windows clipboard that you don't realize how much you need. Basically it seems to create a database to store ALL of your copys to the clipboard and provides you with a toolbar app that will quickly allow you to go back in history to reuse a previous copy that you did.
For even more advanced users, I found that there are macro options built in as well that I found handy for filling out forms over and over again. Set it up one and run the macro.
One feature I like the best is the safe option, you can put clipping into a safe so that they never get accidentally deleted so that you will always have access to them.
Lastly, there is a backup option so that you dont lose what you have in your clipmate database.
These are just a small set of features that this software does and it is well worth the cost of the software.
